Tech+ is a student organization at the University of Waterloo with the goal to make the UW tech community more diverse, equitable, inclusive. We believe that as students, we have the responsibility to do more for underrepresented communities. We aim to support people from all backgrounds, to be confident, knowledgeable, and empowered. ****
We are a group across all different faculties and programs, who strive to make the University of Waterloo tech community a better place for everyone. Our interests know no bounds; we are concert lovers 🎶 , fitness fanatics 🏋️♀️, shopaholics 🛍 , and more!
We have a quickly growing team, and fostering a fun, safe environment for everyone has always been at the top of our priority list!

What is diversity, equity & inclusion?
We are immensely proud of our progress in addressing and tackling DEI issues in the student community, but we know that there is still lots of work to be done. Every organizer is committed to doing what is right, constantly educating ourselves, and becoming better allies for different underrepresented communities.
One issue we have identified is Tech+'s organizing team not being diverse enough. This is a problem we are actively working on. Tackling issues around diversity, equity & inclusion is core to Tech+'s mission and vision. We are passionate about doing this, standing up for others who might not be like us, and doing what's right — even if it's the harder, longer path.
We're dedicated in making the wider UW tech community a better place, and continuing to make the community that is the Tech+ organizing team more inclusive. Instead of a community where everyone fits in, we value a community where it's okay to not fit in.
We're open-minded and are here to listen and learn: about the communities that we're serving, how we can do better as an organization, and how we can all grow as individuals. We want to unlearn the toxic narrative of different communities that society had taught us.
