If you’re looking for Tech+ Mentors at a Glance…

Mentee Values

Tech+ is looking for mentees with the following values:

• Show interest in bettering the tech community at UW
• Show a willingness to learn and grow as a mentee and as an individual
• Value the importance of individuality, diversity, and inclusion — respecting different opinions, interests, and passions — especially within the tech community at UW
• Be enthusiastic about being part of Tech+!

Commitment

• Commit ~3-4 hours per month to the Tech+ Mentorship Program (including Tech+ events)
  • As a member of the Tech+ Mentorship Program, mentees should also contribute to the Tech+ community!
• Meet 1:1 with mentors once a month (or more!)

A Tech+ Mentee Should...

• Help cultivate a more inclusive and diverse tech community at UWaterloo
• Respect their mentor and appreciate the time they put in — they’re volunteering time from their busy lives to support you!
• Participate in Tech+ general events, which leads to a more vibrant community
• Be willing to receive and work off of feedback from mentors

A Tech+ Mentee Should NOT...

• Ask mentors to complete their homework, assignments, or side projects for them. The purpose of the Tech+ Mentorship Program is to provide guidance and support through 1:1 conversations — mentors are NOT an "expendable resource"
